Once again, for their social activism and auctioning their staff for a good cause.

December 15:

Really, who needs Oasis 2.0? And what an awfully ridiculous name is that anyway? I mean, come on guys, you got rid of one annoying Gallagher, you should use the fact to start over new. It's getting old...

...the tragedy was reported here.

November 4:

Over 15 years after their last tour in the United States the Manic Street Preachers are planning on going back. Last time, on their first and last American Tour, guitarist Richey Edwards disappeared without a trace.

October 28:

If you're into folk and blues, you might enjoy Timber Timbre. Feel free to download a couple of songs as an appetiser. Only available until midnight October 31 though, so put on your fake halloween vampire teeth and suck the music!

October 26:

Another emergency on stage: After only one song Morrissey collapsed at his concert in Swindon, UK and had to be taken to the hospital. He had to cancel his gig in Bournemouth too, but it seems like the rest of the tour is still on. We wish you all the best, Moz!

October 3:

We're back from a short "holiday in the US and moving life centres" break and have to catch up with the fast paced music world.

There's good news for all of us who love Elbow and/or Deluxe Edtions: They re-release "Asleep In The Back" in a Deluxe Edition at the end of this month. It includes a CD, a DVD and some exclusive material they released back in '98 on "The Noisebox EP".

You can download two free new Wolfmother songs here as a teaser for their new album "Cosmic Egg". All you have to do is sign up to their newsletter.

September 5:

TV On The Radio announce a band pause. After living on a tourbus together for over a year they need a break from each other and cure homesickness. Fair enough!

Our favourite drunken sailors Friska Viljor are about to release their third studio album, "For New Beginners" in October. Title speaking for itself, it is going to be "something different". They have changed as persons, so they need to sound different as well. Made you curious? Have a sneak on their myspace.

Damon Albarn's Gorillaz are working together with The Horrors on new material. That's an interesting combination we can look forward to.

August 18:

Congrats to Brandon Flowers for consequent reproducing! Last weekend his wife gave birth to the second Killers baby, a son called Gunner. Two fourth of a future superstar Rockband maybe.

Is Ricky Wilson cheating on music? Rumour has it that the lead Kaiser Chief is going to play a part in a movie called "St. Trinian's II - The Legend of Fritton's Gold" alongside Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud. Can't wait to see that!

Zoot Woman are back with a new album, "Things Are What They Used To Be". It's out August 21 and if you pre-order it on amazon you get a free bonus track on top.

Last year the Infadels, this year the Noisettes: Mazda's advertising department has got an very non-commercial taste. For their TV spot they used "Don't Upset The Rythm" from the new Noisettes album "Wild Young Hearts".

August 15:

Them Crooked Vultures are making small steps further. There is a 14 second intro to what seems to be a first song on Youtube.com, it's called "Nobody Loves Me And Neither Do I". The official homepage is pretty empty except a store and a forum. I dare say, one single shirt only available in men's sizes which is already sold out is not a real store. Give us more!

Port O'Brien are going to release a new album on September 25.  You can find the first prelistenings on Cityslang.com ("Sour Milk/Salt Water") and Stereogum.com ("My Will Is Good").

Another chapter in the Morrissey vs. Label-chronicles: He is calling on fans not to buy the release of Morrissey- and Smiths-classics that is announced for this autumn, because HMV, EMI + Parlophone have not discussed this release with him.

Weezer! New Album! New Single! But read that story yourself in their myspaceblog.

Yo La Tengo are about to release a new album as well. "Popular Songs" comes out September 4 and of course there's a preview download on Spinner.com.

Last but not least, rumors have it Radiohead are releasing an EP on Monday. If you go on wallofice.com you'll be redirected to an online store. Look out for anything that's called "Wall Of Ice"! If you find it before us, let us know.

August 4:

Jesus, Moses and Buddha are creating a new religion and the world is finally going to be peaceful. That's what it feels like when Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones are forming a supergroup! Them Crooked Vultures are already recording. Now that we have the gods, music shall be our faith!

July 19:

Thom Yorke and the Kings Of Leon are possible candidates for the soundtrack to the new Twilight-Movie "New Moon"!

Nick Cave is reading an excerpt of chapter 12 of his book "The Death Of Bunny Munro" in a video on the guardian.co.uk.

July 7:

Elbow are re-releasing a special edition set of last years album "The Seldom Seen Kid" on July 10. It includes three bonus tracks. Until then you can download "Every Bit The Little Girl" for free - but only if you're one of the first thousand new newsletter-subscribers.
I am one! :P

Mew's new Album "No More Stories..." will be out on August 21. You can have a taste of it with "Repeaterbeater" as free download.

A new Bravery album is on its way as well, says their blog!

And...it's been long since I had the chance for another chapter in the "Needless quotes from the Gallaghers". But I knew I can rely on the mighty brothers!
Noel Gallagher said in an interview, he "spent at least a million Pounds on drugs before he stopped in 1998". Gooood boy! Well done! That's what we all wanted to know. Your stupid fans made you so fuckin rich that you were able to afford drugs like other people milk cocoa! Isn't it that you wanted to tell us?

Furthermore, Mr. Gallagher explained he feels so damn sorry for Chris Martin, who claims to never have been doing drugs before in his life, because "Doing drugs is the best thing in being a rockstar!".

Honestly. This guy needs help. But, let's be true to ourselves: we all knew that making music was never his favourite part!

June 15:

I was following Trent Reznor on Twitter lately. Besides the fact that he likes to blackbite Chris Cornell, which we've all heard before, now he seems to get really pissed about all that web2.0 and social networking thing and is constantly talking about stepping out of the interactive world. There are some twats around who send him pretty arrogant and aggressive messages - and we all can imagine how Trent reacts on that. Example? I'm so glad I'm not working for Metal Sludge...

Beth Ditto, the refreshingly non-model-like singer of The Gossip, who already made our faces fall with some of her outfits, announces the build-up of her own fashion label and is proud to say: "I'm looking for really fat models." Could she be the missing link to the U-turn in anorexic size 0 fashion?

Peter Doherty (yes, the "r" belongs there, I had to get used to it to, but Mr. Doherty is trying to get his reputation straight...) was arrested twice (!!) the last week for drunk driving and drug consumption.

Jack White hates boredom, so it seems. Next to revitalising The White Stripes and sideproject The Raconteurs he started working with another Band, The Dead Weather (Dean Fertita - QOTSA, Jack Lawrence - Raconteurs and Allison Mosshart - The Kills), and is working on a solo project. Where the hell does he get the energy and ideas for all that? You should really start teaching some self-help classes for burn out syndromers, Jack!

Last but not least: Billy Corgan, my special friend. Now that Jimmy Chamberlin has left the Band, why is Corgan still calling them Smashing Pumpkins? It's starting to get annoying. And hey, putting a 19 year old lad on the drum seat? That idea is SO stolen from Placebo!!

May 22:

Banished and confused. Manic Street Preachers' new Album has been taken out of the storage racks of several british department stores because the artwork could harm peoples feelings. The cover shows the drawing of a young girl whose face is obviously covered in blood. Nick Wire is rightly confused, that eg. the Pussycat Dolls can show off their barely clothed bodies pole dancing but a fine piece of art is disdained. Silly.

April 11:

A lot of new stuff is going to come towards us the next two months. Yes, in the springtime everything's blossoming! Here's a little taste of our favourites:

Maximo Park already gave us permission to download "Wraithlike" from the new album "Quicken The Heart", which since then is on heavy rotation on the radio over here. Pre-Orders are on since March and most likely to give the mailorder-logistics a lot of work until May. And last but not least, here you can watch the Video of "The Kids Are Sick Again". It makes a pretty good first impression and us bloody impatient!

IAMX were presenting their new album live in December last year already, but only bits and pieces to make us fans horny. A free download of "Think Of England" followed. Earlier this year they continued with another tour and some more tracks of "Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction". And if you were there and are not addicted to IAMX Chapter Three by now, something must be wrong with you, get yourself some professional help! Then, order here.

Now to the hero part:

Placebo had to go through a big change the last year. Drummer Steve Hewitt left the band and was replaced by Steve Forrest. No one was sure if this would work, neither for the band and their developement, nor for the fans and their appreciation of this new lad. Long time no here from them and how it's going on. But now they are back again, present a new album, and yes, another free download. "Battle For The Sun" it's called and proves every sceptic wrong! There was a pre-order lottery - one person on every continent who preorders the album could be soon the proud owner of a golden pass that makes you friends of Placebo for one glorious day! Don't give up hope...Summed up, here are the good old Placebo in a new fancy dress, making fans hearts jumping happy high again!

Manic Street Preachers have something pretty special this time. "Journal For Plague Lovers" is a collection of songs written by the still missing band member Richey Edwards. Comes out May 15. No further argument needed for a real fan. Order!

Febtruary 23:

Kings of Leon announced their next album to be released in 2010! After touring all year in 2009 they want to go straight back in the studio in early 2010 and release new stuff asap. According to the Followills they already got some exciting bits of music which may turn into a grungier direction.

IAMX just announced the release date for the third studio album "Kingdom of Welcome Addiction". The glorious day will be May 19. Pre-orders are welcome and will be shipped on May 6 already! SHOP!

Another new record takes its forms: Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's Blitz" already has two single releases: "Zero" will be the first one, "Heads Will Roll" follows. You can listen to it on stereogum.com and live:

29.04. NL-Amsterdam – Paradiso
03.05. Köln – Live Music Hall
06.05. Berlin - Columbiahalle

And we're not done with album releases: Pete Doherty gives birth to his first solo album "Grace/Wastelands" on March 13. Worth mentioning is his collaboration with Blur-guitarist Graham Coxon. See Petey's EPK!
